Vice President, Project Manager
Dallas, Texas USA
Will first dabbled in design in high school technical theater class, operating the lighting for theater productions. His background in set design led to a broader interest in designing unique and forward-thinking buildings. “Buildings need a soul — it's an abstract idea, but when you experience a building that has it, you feel it,” he observes.
Will has worked on mixed-use and performing arts projects throughout his 15+ year career. He explains how designing hyper-functional spaces is achieved through contextual design, careful detailing, and a certain amount of artistic intuition. To this day, he excels at designing performance and presentation spaces with such projects as The House of Blues, Moody Performance Hall, and the Multi-Purpose Room at Charles Schwab — all highly technical spaces conceived through heavy collaboration with industry experts. “It's satisfying to find elegant solutions to complex problems, especially when the whole project team can feel they own the success,” he says.
In his free time, Will heads to the mountains with family and friends to fly fish and play guitar. “Fishing and strumming are a lot like drawing — you become immersed in the craft and lost in the present moment.”
