Ahad Ali
CPA
Vice President, Controller
Dallas, Texas USA
Responsible for the firm’s daily accounting operations, Ahad ensures our financials reflect revenue generation, accounts payable, and payroll. He has increased the accounting process significantly, allowing our monthly books to be closed within ten business days, a monumental feat that typically takes 20 to 30 days. Ahad meets with our officers monthly to review financials, elicit feedback, and uncover trouble spots. “I like the transparency of this firm — since we are employee-owned, everyone knows how we’re doing.”
With a background in accounting for global financial firms and retail companies, Ali is adept at recommending process improvements, however, his favorite part of the role is mentoring his team and interacting with project managers. “I have a direct impact on helping architects manage their financials on interesting projects, which I find exciting,” he says.
Born in Pakistan, Ahad grew up in Saudi Arabia, where he attended a British school. In his downtime, he enjoys reading sci-fi and spending his pocket change at Half Price Books, where he’s built a collection of Iain M. Banks, Phillip K. Dick, and Neal Stephenson novels.
