Shane is committed to elevating the profile of architecture for an optimal patient and staff experience. Early in his career, he says he was inspired by form, shape, light, and shadow. Once he shifted his focus to healthcare, he became more concerned about evolving the patient experience — including staff and caregivers.

Shane oversees the design efforts for Healthcare Studio nationwide. With 25+ years in managing complex healthcare projects, Shane actively participates in conferences and panel discussions related to healthcare initiatives, best practices, and design trends. He oversees the development of a consistent image, character, and aesthetic quality that meets the client’s objectives, working closely with project designers and managers to ensure the technical aspects and guiding principles coordinate seamlessly with the design. “Corgan is unique in that our culture is made up of specialized generalists,” he says. “By that I mean all of us are capable of working in any studio, in any role, at any given time, but we each have our focus areas.” For Shane, that focus is on designing healthcare facilities that respond to ever-changing needs, while mentoring and encouraging the next generation of designers.
