As a leader, project manager, and architect in the Education Studio in Atlanta, Carissa brings vast experience in international and domestic architectural design and leadership with a focus on higher education. She is passionate about transforming underserved communities through the built environment and prioritizes Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (JEDI) at the core of her approach to design and planning. She leads projects of all types with complex programs, schedules, and delivery methods for academic, civic, mixed-use, and master plan projects.
Carissa is recognized in the architectural community as a recipient of AIA National Young Architect Award, Top 20 Under 40 by Engineering News-Record California (ENR), and NextGen 10 in Real Estate & Finance by C-Suite Quarterly Magazine (CSQ). Carissa recently served as California Representative of the AIA Los Angeles and California Boards. As a founder of AIA Los Angeles Women in Architecture (WiA) Committee, she initiated the annual WiA Powerful Symposium and doubled the AIALA 2x8 Student Exhibition and Scholarship Program. “The bright young generation provides us with endless possibilities – I can’t wait to see where the future takes us next!”
When not working, Carissa winds down with her husband and son, exploring new travel destinations and trying new foods and wines.
