Andrew Loke
Director – Data Center Studio
Singapore Asia
With a deep knowledge of master planning projects and a particular affinity for data center design, Andrew is growing Corgan's footprint in Singapore and Southeast Asia. With over ten years’ experience as an architect in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Singapore, Andrew is brings existing relationships and a great depth of expertise to the local team. “The Asia-Pacific market not only offers unlimited potential in the data center industry, but also provides robust commercial, multifamily, education, and aviation opportunities, positioning Corgan for a bright future,” he says.
A self-described lifetime learner, Andrew brings a diverse background, blending his interest in nature, technology, and sustainability. Believing successful design conveys the architect’s vision while at the same time addressing the owner’s requirements, Andrew maximizes his value by listening and understanding the client’s pain points. “I take joy in learning and am interested in how factors within our wider built-environment ecosystem, real estate economics, geopolitics, technological advancements, social trends, globalization (or deglobalization), and environmental considerations affect us, our projects, and our clients. After all, it is the careful synthesis of the understanding of these factors, together with our client’s requirements and our design vision, that enables us to design and deliver successful future-proofed projects that build strong relationships with our clients and the wider community.”
Andrew feels fortunate to live in a topical climate with summer all year round. “Buildings, especially publicly accessible types, should be environmentally responsive, have strong connections to nature and its wider urban fabric, and serve their users and the community by being universally designed and conducive to social interactions and people activities. By far, my favorite designs integrate nature into buildings where sky terraces and rooftop gardens serve as community and social spaces.”
