Not many of us can return to middle school as adults and help improve our former campus, but when Andrew became an architect, he was able to do just that. Andrew has worked on several projects for the school district where he grew up. As a teenager and student in Northside ISD, he became determined to be an architect when he grew up. “My Father was a carpenter in the Air Force and I would work with him on projects around the house which sparked my curiosity in architecture — and I haven’t looked back since,” he said.
As a leader of the Education Studio in our San Antonio office, Andrew specializes in PK-12 projects including new construction and major renovations. He works directly with school districts to deliver projects that meet their budget and schedules and align with their values to create spaces that enrich learning environments through developing lasting relationships with consultants, coworkers, and contractors. “My greatest reward is knowing a client or an end user felt heard and the project we delivered was a success,” he says.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters with whom he tries to instill the virtues of hard work. “I tell my daughters, if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything.”
