One of our long-term healthcare insurance clients approached Corgan to help them expand into the healthcare market by opening multiple advanced primary care clinics across the Phoenix Metroplex. Based on a concierge healthcare model, the hospitality-inspired clinics will be designed to deliver personalized care and reduce waste and complexity to advance the patient and provider experience. The Desert Harbor facility is the model for future clinics that provide one-stop access to both primary care and behavioral health as well as lab services and a pharmacy to treat patients holistically, addressing mind and body in one space.
The mind & body connection
The design creates a welcoming environment for an empathetic and caring patient experience. Intentional simplicity makes the most of the space with a combined lobby and check-in, well-placed yet separate therapy and exam rooms that place privacy and safety first, a lab processing room, and a spacious breakroom for staff. A beverage bar in the waiting room is a departure from most medical clinics, inviting patients to relax. An adjacent administrative office provides a touchdown space shared by both medical and mental healthcare staff.
Integrated care meets convenience
Avoiding the typical sterile typology of healthcare environments, the design intentionally leans toward a spa-like environment with higher-end finishes and a streamlined aesthetic. Windows fill the bright airy space with natural light and face views of the native landscape. Floor-to-ceiling glass and sliding doors create an open and spacious feel while light wood tones, blue hues, and a neutral pallet provide a calming and soothing experience. Cove tube lighting travels along the corridor and provides wayfinding. Subtle branding elements create cohesion and will unify the brand across future locations.
Carefully planned for patient comfort, The Desert Harbor Clinic is the first of many concierge healthcare facilities planned to offer ease and convenience for comprehensive care.
