A precedent-setting professional environment.
Dubiski Career High School is a precedent setting 2,000 student comprehensive career and technology school for Grand Prairie ISD. The four-story, 245,000 square-foot structure is designed to accommodate a multitude of specialized programs and career pathways that mimic professional workplace environments. The classroom wings radiate from an open atrium, while informal break out spaces foster cross-curricular collaboration. The site context informed many features of the design. Pre-cast panels on the south and west sides of the building buffer highway noise for occupants and provide thermal mass on direct solar exposures, while the north and east facades feature larger expanses of glazing. The building is conditioned using an energy efficient geothermal HVAC system.
