Transforming a disjointed campus into a community destination.
Grand Prairie High School’s iconic four-story classroom addition elevates the campus identity and cultivates collaboration and innovation. After years of makeshift additions and renovations, the district commissioned this project to create a unified campus that is a destination for the community and a center for innovation and opportunity, with a clear identity and sense of place. Key to its success was the removal of hierarchical barriers and the creation of shared spaces that foster the social and creative skills required for success in today’s professions. Natural stone and a new landscaped plaza provide warmth to the campus and outdoor classroom and community common space.
Reflecting the workplace.
The facility’s design references many commercial office trends, such as customizable ideation zones.
