In July 2019, Steel Dynamics, one of the largest domestic steel producers and metal recyclers in the U.S., announced that Sinton, Texas will be the location of their newest and largest steel plant complex. The new complex will bring nearly 650 new jobs, additional supporting businesses, and new families to Sinton. It will also more than triple the district's certified value, significantly increasing their district’s bonding allowance without affecting the school tax rate. Due to this unique opportunity, the district partnered with Corgan to engage a citizens advisory committee of parents, teachers, and community members to build consensus and develop a bond program that would prepare for the future of the district. The committee’s proposal to the Board of Trustees included improvements at all campuses, but most significantly, it included construction of a new high school and multi-purpose facility to replace their ag facilities. Corgan’s internal communications team then developed a communications strategy for voter education including branding, messaging, and all collateral development. The election passed in November 2020.
