Global architecture firm Corgan opens first D.C. office
Global architecture and design firm Corgan has opened its first-ever D.C. office and brought in two D.C.-area industry veterans to lead business development here.
Corgan, which is based in Dallas and has 18 other offices globally, has set up temporary space at 901 19th St. NW while still scouting for “the ideal office" for the firm, a spokesperson said in an email.
Karl Stumpf, most recently of Page Southerland Page Inc., leads the D.C. office as director and principal; Allison Laudicina-Kahl, most recently of OTJ Architects, has been hired as associate principal and head of its interior design business. The firm is continuing to hire in D.C. and plans to have a staff of six here by the end of the year, the spokesperson said.
Corgan is consistently ranked as a top five U.S. firm based by industry magazine Building Design + Construction. It placed No. 4 in the magazine’s most recent rankings with 2023 revenue of $427 million and was ranked No. 1 in revenue from data centers and No. 2 in airports. The firm also does exterior and interior design work for offices, health care facilities, schools, multifamily housing and other commercial developments.
