Corgan was approached by Forest Laboratories; a New York based pharmaceutical company, to bring their company to a new level, through the design of their corporate headquarters. The project, consisting of 150,000 square feet of new offices, located on five floors of a Class-A building in midtown Manhattan, presented the opportunity for Forest Laboratories to revisit and restructure their corporate and workplace standards. Corgan held focus group meetings to define the client's culture, values and objectives. A robust program was developed to understand the total space demand, departmental adjacencies, stacking plans and growth expectations over the life of the fifteen year lease. The design was driven by the planning concept of creating nodes of activities or ‘nuclei’ to facilitate communication and encourage interaction between departments.
